BAFS Explores 2 Projects with Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) to gauge its effectiveness in implementing its mandates

April 30, 2021. Guided by its commitment to continuously improve its services and effectively implementing its mandates, the Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Standards (BAFS) conducted a Virtual Meeting with the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) last April 29, 2021 to explore possible collaboration projects.

This year BAFS intends to conduct two (2) assessment projects that will evaluate BAFS’ current performance relative to the implementation of the Food Safety Act and Impact of Organic Agriculture Standards to related products specifically on their market value and competitiveness. These initiatives aim to identify areas for improvement that could be adopted in developing or updating the medium-term strategic plan of the Bureau.

The meeting supported by top management representatives of both agencies had a fruitful discussion. Once the proposals are finalized, administrative processes related to the project will commence.  Both projects are targeted for completion by end of the year.  ###
