Rise of the Philippine Chickens – Final Stakeholder Consultation (SC) for the Development of Philippine National Standard (PNS) for Animal Carcass – Chicken - Grading

April 29, 2021.  The Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Standards (BAFS) conducted the Final Stakeholders Consultation for the Development of PNS on Animal Carcass – Chicken – Grading on April 23, 2021 via Cisco Webex. The activity aims to gather technical and commercial information that can be used as reference for the finalization of the PNS. The activity also aims to further validate the provisions stated in the draft from the series of Technical Working Group (TWG) meetings. 51 stakeholders from relevant government agencies, academe and research institutions, private sectors, and civil society organizations participated in the consultation.

The development of the PNS was proposed by the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) to assure the quality and promote the global competitiveness of chickens produced in the country. Consumers and meat establishments will benefit from the development of this standard since knowledge on the grading system for chicken carcass will be available. ###
