DA-BAFS Workshop Series: BAFS ODI Framework and Defining the BAFS Culture

The DA-BAFS conducted two series of workshops on organization development in the 1st quarter of 2024. The first one was held on February 26 and focused on the establishment of the 'BAFS Organization Development (OD) Framework.' The first workshop established the goals, major strategies, and interventions of the Bureau in creating a balance between organizational effectiveness and health.

The second workshop was conducted on March 4 and focused on describing the current BAFS organizational culture. It drew on models by Deshpande et al. and Saxby et al. on the relationship between the four organizational culture types and their dominant attributes, leader style, bonding, strategic emphasis, and environmental scanning methods. Before the workshop, a survey on organizational culture based on the two organizational culture models was conducted among the BAFS personnel. The findings revealed a mix of the four organizational culture types and the creation of sub-cultures within the organization. However, BAFS was found to have predominantly hierarchical and market types of organizational culture.

With the establishment of the BAFS OD framework, it will continue to be effective, healthy, and continuously adapting to a rapidly changing environment. ###
