The DA-BAFS, under the leadership of Director Karen Kristine A. Roscom, PFT, PhD, took part in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) organized by the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) in collaboration with DA-Philippine Council for Agriculture and Fisheries (PCAF) on January 16, 2024. The purpose of the FGD was to collect information on how DA-BAFS is implementing its mandate under RA 10601 (Agricultural and Fisheries Mechanization [AFMech] Law) and to assess how the provisions in the law align with the current practices of the Bureau. This initiative is part of the UPLB-PCAF study titled "Rapid Assessment of Republic Act (RA) No. 10601 also known as the AFMech Law", which aims to evaluate the policies, plans, and programs under RA 10601 (AFMech Law) and its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) and create policy recommendations based on the findings. ###
