The DA-BAFS, in partnership with the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) Regional and Provincial Offices in Region IX, conducted a field data gathering activity across registered coconut farms in Zamboanga del Norte, Zambanga Sibugay, and Zamboanga del Sur on June 2-5, 2025. This activity supports the development of the Explanatory Manual for the PNS Code of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) for Coconut.

 

The Explanatory Manual will complement the PNS by providing additional context, field-based insights, and images that clarify the provisions of the PNS GAP for Coconut. It aims to provide practical understanding of the standard among farmers, regulators, and extension workers.

 

Once finalized, the manual will be a key reference tool for promoting safe, and sustainable coconut farming practices aligned with GAP standards.
