The DA-BAFS successfully chaired the ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐๐ต ๐๐ฆ๐๐๐ก ๐ง๐ฎ๐๐ธ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ฆ๐๐๐ก ๐ฆ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐๐น๐๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐น ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฑ๐๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ข๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ผ๐ผ๐ฑ ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฝ๐ (๐ง๐-๐ ๐๐ฆ๐๐ฃ). Held in Luang Prabang, Lao PDR, from June 11-12, 2025, the meeting brought together delegates from across Southeast Asia, with Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Viet Nam attending in person, and Indonesia and Singapore participating virtually. Notably, Timor-Leste joined the discussions for the first time as an observer.The Philippine delegation led the proceedings, with ๐๐ฟ. ๐๐น๐ฝ๐ต๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐๐๐ฎ serving as Chair of the TF-MASHP. ๐๐ผ๐๐ต๐๐ฎ ๐๐ฏ๐ฒ๐น acted as the TF-MASHP Secretariat, while ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐๐ฒ๐น ๐๐น๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐๐ฏ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฑ๐ผ, ๐ฅ๐ก๐ headed the Philippine contingent.
During the productive two-day session, the Task Force finalized the ASEAN Standards for Carrots and Passion Fruits. Discussions also progressed on the draft standards for Lemons and Figs. Demonstrating its commitment to regional harmonization, the Philippines pledged to lead the review of ASEAN Standards for Mango and Papaya, with their finalization targeted for Calendar Year 2028.
The DA-BAFS affirms its continued commitment to the TF-MASHP as its permanent Chair and to further harmonizing Philippine National Standards (PNS) with ASEAN Standards.
