The DA-BAFS carried out the first surveillance assessment of the Palawan Organic Farmers Association (POFA) Municipal PGS Group on July 22–24, 2025. The activity aimed to verify the group’s continued compliance with accreditation requirements as an Organic Certifying Body (OCB).
The assessment included an office-based review of the group’s documents and records, and witnessing of peer review activities to evaluate whether the group remains competent, impartial, and consistent in following its approved Manual of Operations. While the team noted that the group still needs to strengthen its implementation of the Manual of Operations, POFA was commended for its resourcefulness in fulfilling its functions despite limited resources.
The activity was supported by technical personnel from DA-MIMAROPA and representatives from the Municipal Government of Quezon, who were present to provide assistance and encouragement to the group.
