July 25, 2025 – The DA-BAFS through its Organic Agriculture Division conducted a meeting with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) relevant to the implementation of Republic Act 11967 or the Internet Transactions Acts of 2023.
The meeting is aimed to explore potential areas of collaboration related to enforcing labeling standards for products marketed as “ORGANIC”, specifically on transactions through the e-commerce platforms. The prevalence of mislabelled products has been one of the major regulatory concerns as these may cause human health and environmental hazards, affect crop yield and agricultural produce.
Director Mary Grace R. Mandigma, expressed her gratitude to the team of DTI in providing the bureau an informative approach and clear guidance to move forward in this endeavour. With this initiative, we look forward to strengthening the arms of regulations on the implementation of “Organic” label enforcement on agricultural products.
