The DA-BAFS, together with the dedicated members of the Technical Working Group, are pleased to share 2 Illustrative Guides (IG) for abaca fiber-related Philippine National Standards (PNS) — IG for PNS Abaca fiber – Grading and Classification – Handstripped and Spindle/Machine Stripped, and IG for PNS Abaca fiber – Grading and Classification – Decorticated.

This knowledge product is a supplementary document to the PNS, intended to assist regulatory personnel, abaca inspectors, and individuals interested in abaca production.
The IG provides illustrations and images to help clarify and contextualize the provisions of the standard. It aims to address common questions and misunderstandings, leading to a more effective and consistent implementation of the PNS.
