On March 4, 2026, the Philippines, through the DA-BAFS, currently serving as Permanent Chair of the Task Force on ASEAN Standards for Horticultural Produce and Other Food Crops (TF-MASHP), successfully conducted a virtual orientation on the Guidance Manual on Harmonization Assessment of National Standards with ASEAN Standards for Horticultural Produce and Other Food Crops.

 

The workshop brought together key representatives from ASEAN Member States to enhance their understanding of the harmonization process. It provided step-by-step guidance on utilizing the assessment tool and facilitated the exchange of best practices and lessons learned in aligning national standards with ASEAN standards. The session aimed to strengthen regional cooperation in promoting the standardization of food safety and quality across the ASEAN region, ensuring greater market access for agricultural products.
