Delisting of Non-Certified and Non-Organic Soil Amendments and Biocontrol Agents Products through Lazada Platform
Quezon City – Lazada E-Services Philippines, Inc. (Lazada) has formally responded to the DA-BAFS ADVISORY No. 2026-02-001 they received on 23 March 2026 concerning the sale of uncertified and unregistered bio-control agents and soil amendment products carrying “organic” claims on its platform. The advisory identified specific product listings through a series of URLs and raised concerns about regulatory compliance. These bio-control agent and soil amendment products are not certified “organic” by any of the DA-BAFS-accredited OCB and are not registered with the DA-BAFS, hence the organic integrity and efficacy of the product cannot be assured. The use of these products may affect the organic farms and may pose health risks to consumers.
In its response, Lazada emphasized that it takes such concerns seriously and expressed appreciation for the issue being brought to its attention. The company reiterated its commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant online marketplace for consumers and deactivated the listing of these products.
