On August 1, 2025, the DA-BAFS Standards Development Division held an exploratory meeting with the DA-Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) to support the development of Philippine National Standards (PNS) for agricultural and fishery machinery and structures.
The meeting aimed to identify and define the technical specifications for fisheries-related technologies and facilities issued or provided by DA-BFAR. This initiative aligns with the efforts of the Agricultural and Fishery (AFM) Machinery Section in developing relevant PNS, in accordance with Republic Act No. 10601, or the “Agricultural and Fisheries Mechanization (AFMech) Law,” which promotes mechanization in the agriculture and fisheries sectors.
