The Fleming Fund AMR Project Exit Meeting with Stakeholders, spearheaded by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) on February 26, 2026, brought together partners to review project objectives, present deliverables, and discuss outcomes.

The DA-BAFS actively participated, highlighting its efforts to address foodborne antimicrobial resistance (AMR) through its mandate in development of Philippine National Standards (PNS), as well as its PNS promotion and policy recommendation efforts.

The Exit Meeting not only served as a platform to gather feedback, identify successes and areas for improvement, outline next steps for stakeholders, but also as a strategic platform to reinforce the institutionalization of AMR efforts. Discussions emphasized the integration of AMR-related activities into the respective mandates and work plans of relevant agencies, ensuring that initiatives move beyond project-based interventions toward sustained, system-level implementation. The meeting also introduced the RENOFARM initiative, emphasizing its potential benefits for the country.

DA-BAFS’ participation underscores its commitment to advancing AMR initiatives and fostering collaboration among stakeholders.
