The Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Standards (DA-BAFS) reviewed the Bureau’s first-semester performance and identified priorities for the remainder of the year during its FY 2026 Mid-Year Assessment and Operational Planning Workshop held on July 27, 2026, at the DA-BAFS Conference Hall.

 

The Standards Research Division (SRD), Standards Development Division (SDD), Technical Services Division (TSD), Organic Agriculture Division (OAD), and Administrative and Finance Services (AFS) presented their first-semester accomplishments and outlined their priority targets and planned activities for the second half of FY 2026. Each division also discussed its Three-Year Strategic Plan (2027–2029), highlighting key initiatives, operational issues and concerns, and proposed recommendations to support the Bureau’s goals.

 

The presentations provided management with updates on the status of key projects/programs, budget utilization, and operational priorities while outlining the divisions’ strategic direction for the next three years. The discussions also focused on aligning proposed initiatives and resource requirements with the Bureau’s goals and mandates.

 

Following the presentations, DA-BAFS Director Karen Kristine A. Roscom, PFT, PhD, CESO III, Director IV provided comments, feedback, and recommendations on the divisions’ reports, second-semester targets, strategic plans, and operational concerns. She emphasized the importance of defining the Bureau’s direction over the next three years by remaining anchored on its mandate.
