DA-BAFS Holds Seminar-Workshop on ISO 9001:2015 Amendment 1:2024 on Climate Change
The Department of Agriculture–Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Standards (DA-BAFS), through its Administrative Support Section – Quality Management Unit (ASS-QMU), conducted an In-house Seminar-Workshop on ISO 9001:2015/Amd 1:2024 on Climate Change on July 20, 2026.
The activity aimed to strengthen the Bureau’s Quality Management System (QMS) by integrating climate change considerations into its operations and organizational planning.It provided BAFS personnel with a deeper understanding of the ISO 9001:2015 Amendment 1:2024, which requires organizations to assess the relevance of climate change in achieving organizational objectives.
Engr. Zyrus A. Oyong, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Bluestar Certification Management Inc., served as the resource speaker and led discussions on the latest amendments to ISO 9001:2015, focusing on the integration of climate change considerations into organizational context, risk-based thinking, and decision-making processes.
During the workshop, BAFS personnel assessed the implications of climate change on their respective functions and identified measures to strengthen the integration of climate-related considerations into the Bureau’s QMS. The activity highlighted the importance of risk-based thinking in ensuring operational resilience, business continuity, and sustained delivery of quality public service amid climate-related challenges.
The initiative marks another step in DA-BAFS’ efforts to strengthen its institutional capacity by integrating climate change considerations into quality management and organizational planning.
