City of Naga, Cebu — The DA-BAFS conducted the initial assessment of a core Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) group in the City of Naga from August 11 to 14, 2025. The purpose was to verify the group’s compliance with accreditation requirements as an Organic Certifying Body (OCB).
The assessment included an office-based review and witnessing of the group’s peer review activities. These activities aimed to determine whether the group operates in a competent, impartial, and consistent manner following its Manual of Operations.
While the assessment team noted that the group needs to improve the implementation of its Manual of Operations, the group was commended for its open-minded attitude and willingness to learn, which are key to continuous improvement.
The activity was supported by technical personnel from the DA Regional Field Office – Central Visayas, as well as representatives from the City of Naga Local Government Unit, who were present to assist and observe the process.
