DA-BAFS Achieves PRBABE Compliance, Affirms Commitment to Professional Advancement
The DA-BAFS capped off the month of June with a significant milestone after successfully passing the inspection and monitoring conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), through the Professional Regulatory Board of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (PRB ABE).
Following a systematic review, the Bureau demonstrated its compliance to the regulatory requirements governing the practice of the agricultural and biosystems engineers (ABEs) by ensuring that the functions and responsibilities of its ABEs are anchored in its legal mandate, advancing the expansion of its professional workforce through proposed plantilla positions, and strengthening institutional mechanisms that support professional excellence and career development among ABEs.
With the Bureau’s continued commitment to strengthening its professional workforce, its ABEs play a vital role in upholding its mandate to develop Philippine National Standards (PNS) for Agricultural and Fishery Machinery in support of the advancement of the country’s agri-fisheries mechanization. The activity concluded with the awarding of the Certificate of Compliance to the DA-BAFS. This milestone marked the close of the first semester of CY 2026, reinforcing the shared vision of inter-agency collaboration with the Board.
Moreover, the Bureau remains steadfast in safeguarding and championing the “bayaws” by driving initiatives that foster career progression, continuous professional development, and institutional growth. Hon. Sherwin O. Valdez (PRB ABE Chairperson) led the inspection team, together with Ms. Michaela L. Bautista-Alarcon (Commissioner Representative). DA-BAFS Management Team was headed by Ms. Mary Grace R. Mandigma, PFT (Officer-in-Charge, Director), together with officials and personnel from the Standards Development Division (SDD), Technical Services Division (TSD), and Administrative and Finance Services (AFS).
