The 𝗗𝗔-𝗕𝗔𝗙𝗦 proudly participated in the 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗔𝗠𝗥 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 (𝗪𝗔𝗔𝗪) 2025 celebration for the agriculture sector, organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) . Held on 24 November 2025 at Novotel Manila Araneta City, Quezon City, this year’s global theme, “Act Now: Protect Our Present, Secure Our Future,” highlights the urgent need for collective action against Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). As the country’s standard-setting body for agriculture and fisheries, DA-BAFS continues to strengthen its efforts against AMR. Earlier this month, the Philippine National Standard (PNS) on Integrated Monitoring and Surveillance of Foodborne Antimicrobial Resistance — Guidelines was approved and will soon be published. This standard will support a harmonized and science-based approach to AMR surveillance within the food and agriculture sectors. In a short interview, OIC Director Mary Grace Mandigma congratulated FAO on the successful celebration of WAAW 2025.
