DA-BAFS together with DA-RFO III Conducts Inspection of Core – Farmer Members of PGS Group in the province of Nueva Ecija

Province of Nueva Ecija – A joint inspection by the Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Standards (DA-BAFS) and DA- Regional Field Office Region III, with support from regional and local agricultural offices, verified the compliance of five core farmer- members with Philippine National Organic Agriculture Standards, August 12-14, 2025. Pre-Inspection of the Participatory Guarantee Sytem (PGS) Group COre Farmer-Members

𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗼, 𝗥𝗶𝘇𝗮𝗹 – The Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Standards (DA-BAFS) Compliance Assistance Team provides technical assistance through the pre-inspection to the core farmer-members of PGS group from September 9 to 12, 2025. The activity aimed to help the group with the preparation for their application for organic certification. DA-BAFS Conducts Initial Assessment of Core PGS Group in Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte

Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte — The Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Standards (DA-BAFS) conducted the initial assessment of a core Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) group based in Dipolog City from September 8 to 11, 2025 to verify the group’s compliance with accreditation requirements as an Organic Certifying Body (OCB). The assessment involved an office-based review and witnessing of the group’s peer review to evaluate whether the group is competent, impartial, and consistent in applying its Manual of Operations as an OCB. The DA-BAFS Assessment Team observed that the group needs further improvement in the implementation of its Manual of Operations. DA-BAFS Conducts Initial Assessment of Core PGS Group in Sta. Margarita, Samar

Sta. Margarita, Samar — The Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Standards (DA-BAFS) conducted the initial assessment of a core Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) group based in Sta. Margarita from August 26 to 29, 2025 to verify the group’s compliance with accreditation requirements as an Organic Certifying Body (OCB). The assessment covered an office-based review and the witnessing of the group’s peer review to evaluate whether the group demonstrates competence, impartiality, and consistency in carrying out its Manual of Operations. The DA-BAFS Assessment Team noted that the group still needs to strengthen the implementation of its Manual of Operations. However, the group was commended for its openness and willingness to learn, reflecting its readiness to improve and align with organic certification standards.
