25 June 2021. The Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Standards (BAFS) of the Department of Agriculture (DA) is elated and overjoyed to inform the public of the recent collaboration efforts of the BAFS and that of the Municipality of Bayambang, Pangasinan, that is the linkage between both websites.
The Honorable Mayor of Bayambang Cezar T. Quiambao sent a letter to BAFS Director Myer G. Mula requesting whether the latter is amenable to the possibility of linking the BAFS website [http://www.bafs.da.gov.ph/index] with their very own website, to give free access of the BAFS’ intellectual outputs to majority of their users who are farmers, agricultural suppliers of agricultural inputs and services, investors, among others.
Through the Bayambang Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) headed by its Officer-in-Charge Ms. Zyra Orpiano, the collaboration efforts were made possible and was eventually realized through the approval of Director Mula approving of such request on Friday, June 25, 2021.
The catalyst of this tie-up endeavor is the launching of the municipality’s e-Agro Ecosystem: Farmers’ Total Assistance Program (e-AEFTAP) which is a web-based, comprehensive one-stop shop of service support systems, which aims to assist farmers, including access to low interest loans without collateral.
As Mayor Quiambao puts it, “to link with the BAFS website is paramount, as this will enrich the experience of our clients or users, in modernizing agriculture to augment the lives of our farmers.” ###
